Venues and venue events

Snowcloak can connect a housing plot to a syncshell, publish a venue listing, advertise active events, and keep local reminders.

Community listings

Snowcloak does not vet or endorse venues, FCs, or hangout spaces that use these tools. Venue descriptions and event advertisements are community-authored public information.

Visiting a registered venue

When you enter a registered housing plot, Snowcloak can offer to join its syncshell.

If you accept, the membership is temporary. Snowcloak removes it after you have been away from the grounds for long enough.

The venue owner controls the syncshell and its permissions. Treat a venue syncshell like any other large group: review your performance limits and leave when you no longer need it.

The Venues window

Open Venues from the main Snowcloak sidebar, use /venue, or use /snow venue.

The window has three tabs:

  • Browse — active venue events in your region.
  • Manage — your housing registrations, public listings, and advertisements.
  • Reminders — local event and venue bookmarks.

Use the refresh button in the header to reload the current tab.

Browsing events

The Browse tab shows active venue advertisements, including their venue details, schedule, location, text, and optional banner.

Opening a venue card can show the full listing and offer the associated syncshell join flow.

You can bookmark:

  • one specific event;
  • the venue, to receive reminders for its future events.

Reminders

Venue reminder bookmarks are stored locally.

Snowcloak writes a reminder to the in-game chat during the final hour before a bookmarked event, or while that event is already running. The Reminders tab lets you review bookmarks, remove individual ones, or clear them all.

If a venue bookmark has no active advertisement, it remains saved for a future event.

Registering a plot

Before registering, create or choose a syncshell that you administer.

You must be:

  • the owner of an individual plot; or
  • a member of the FC that owns an FC plot.
FC plots

FFXIV does not expose a convenient in-game FC-rank check here. Snowcloak can verify FC membership, but cannot restrict registration to FC officers.

To register:

  1. Stand on the plot grounds.
  2. Open Venues → Manage and select Register current plot, or enter /venue register.
  3. Open the plot placard when Snowcloak asks.
  4. Do not leave the plot, teleport, or log out during verification.
  5. Choose the administering syncshell.
  6. Enter the venue details and submit.

The registration form supports:

  • venue name;
  • optional syncshell display name;
  • venue-name colour;
  • host or contact;
  • website;
  • optional Discord webhook URL;
  • description.

The description supports BBCode.

Managing the public listing

Select a registered venue under Manage → Listing.

You can edit its name, colour, host/contact, website, Discord webhook, description, and whether it is publicly listed. A preview shows the formatted description before you save.

The Discord webhook is used to publish event advertisements when configured.

The listing page can also copy an iframe embed. Paste that code into a compatible website or Carrd embed to display the venue's current advertisement.

Deleting a venue registration removes its Snowcloak venue listing, housing registration, and advertisements. It does not delete the underlying syncshell.

Creating an advertisement

Select the venue, then open Manage → Advertisement.

An advertisement can contain:

  • event text;
  • local day and start time;
  • an optional 720×300 PNG banner;
  • active/inactive state.

Provide text, a banner, or both. The banner must be exactly 720×300 and in PNG format.

Save the advertisement after the banner upload completes. Uploading the image alone does not publish the event.

Active advertisements appear in the venue browser when their schedule is current. They can also appear in the Roleplay event agenda.

Editing an existing registration

Use Venues → Manage and select the registered plot. The Listing and Advertisement tabs load the saved information for editing.

Running /venue register while standing at the plot begins the ownership-verification flow; /venue ad opens the Manage tab directly.
