Availability and discovery
Availability cards are temporary signals for roleplayers who want to be found now. They use the current character's public profile and disappear automatically after the duration you choose.
Listing your profile
Open Roleplay > My availability and enable List my public profile in RP discovery.
This controls directory consent only. It does not:
- publish a missing profile;
- enable Frostbrand;
- publish an availability card;
- make pair-only profile fields public.
Disable it whenever you want your profile removed from RP searches.
Publishing availability
Choose an availability state:
- Open to walk-ups;
- Seeking hooks;
- In a scene;
- OOC;
- AFK;
- Closed.
Then choose the audience:
- Only me;
- Pairs;
- Syncshells;
- Nearby;
- Local only.
Availability durations range from 30 minutes to 24 hours. The card expires automatically, or you can clear it manually.
Select one or more themes such as intrigue, slice of life, combat, trade, romance, mature, or lore-heavy. You can also attach one of your currently shared profile hooks.
Paused keeps the card configuration but presents it as inactive.
The preview on the right shows how the public card, status, audience, duration, themes, and hook will appear. On narrower windows, the editor uses the full width and omits this preview.
Sharing current hooks
Hooks are authored in the profile editor. In My availability, expand Share profile hooks to publish selected hooks temporarily.
For current hooks you can set:
- which hooks are active;
- a time-to-live between 5 minutes and 24 hours;
- the audience that can see them.
Current hooks can be attached to:
- an availability card;
- an RP-directory interest request;
- a scene-room invitation;
- a direct-message draft opened from a profile hook.
The attached text is a snapshot. Later edits to the original hook do not rewrite an already sent introduction.
Searching for people
Open Roleplay > People. Search supports:
- free text from the public profile;
- tag category and comma-separated tags;
- RP status;
- approachability;
- General, Mature, or Adult rating;
- one boundary topic and rating;
- availability states;
- themes.
Results show the public profile card, current status or hook, availability, visible tags, and whether a boundaries card is available.
Registering interest
If you are not directly paired, select Register interest. When you have a current hook, the button can attach it to the request.
The recipient sees that the request came from the RP directory. Direct messages become available after they accept the request and the direct pairing becomes mutual.
If you are already paired, the same card offers Open DM or Message about hook instead.
Privacy and boundaries
Directory search only receives the public projection of a profile. Fields marked Paired users or Only me remain hidden.
Boundary filters operate on the public boundaries available to the viewer. A boundaries card may require acknowledgement before it can be expanded. Matching a Willing preference is not consent for a scene; it is only a search and discussion aid.
